Great Spiritual Books Program

The purpose of this monthly class is to acquaint everyone with the depths and variety of Western spiritual teaching and the practices that are associated with these teachings. This year, we will continue to study the book Mysticism In Judaism, Christianity And Islam: Searching For Oneness by Professor Ori Soltes of the Theology and Fine Arts Department of Georgetown University. This invaluable comparative study defines the points of similarity and dissimilarity amongst these traditions, while highlighting the practices each has contributed to the fabric of Western mysticism. This class, as with the others I have taught in this manner, continues until the book is completed – when, we do not know.
